His actual name is Sampooran Singh Kalra but well known by his pen name as Gulzar ; he was Born on 18 August 1936 Dina Jhelum District, Punjab he was awareded in 2004 as Padma Bhushan for his great contribution to the art and the Sahitya Akademi Award. He has won many National Film Award and Filmfare Award also awared for Grammy Award for his well known song Jai ho from the movie called “Slumdog Millionaire” in 2008. He had great work with R D Burman during 1970-80 great collection of Gulzar and R D Burman.and after that A R Rehman, Anu Malik etc.Gulzar has recently lauched booked name "Potali Baba ki" it was popular children's pupet Television series aired in India in 1991 on Doordarshan channel. It has all those fairy tales which has good moral messages to children.
